2013 Census Results

27 March 2013

I’ve finally sat down and looked our census results for Nanpantan.

I’m afraid to say this year we have seen a fall in numbers by 3%. This is mainly in our leadership figures, although we did see a fall in our Cub numbers but was made up the growth in Beaver numbers; a special thanks to the Wednesday colony leaders for this. I’m a firm believer that Beavers are a foundation to any group as these young people are likely to progress through each of the our sections maintaining our numbers. I would also like to say a big thanks to Rob Bood for stepping in to run Wednesday Scouts for the short term. There is also space in Scouts on Wednesday, if you know anyone who is aged between 10-14 interested in joining Scouts.

I’ve also received the Leicestershire results and overall as a county we have seen a growth. I’m also pleased to say that Nanpantan Scouts are the 7th largest group in the County, if we had 10 more young people we would have been third! Maybe next year.

Overall, I’m happy with our figures. I’m not going to lie, I would like to see more adult helpers, including those who would like to help behind the scenes and there is plenty of opportunity to do this. Let me know if you are interested.

Onwards and upwards!
