Scout Community Week – Do 1 Thing

16 April 2013

Scout Community Week is the biggest fundraising and awareness event in the year. Taking place from 3-9 June 2013, Scout Community Week not only gives us the opportunity to bond with the local community and raise essentials funds for local and national Scouting, but it’s a chance to promote and champion all the inspiring things we do during the other 51 weeks of the year.

Take a look at the message from Julia Bradbury (presenter of County File) here

Scouts from all over the country will be taking part during the week taking part in community projects. We have been speaking with the Council and have decided to do a sponsored litter pick. The council will provide the litter picking equipment and our young people will go out and collect litter in designated areas around Loughborough. The litter pick will happen during your normal section evening. Your leaders will tell you where to meet. We will also have special guests coming to help us during the week so keep an eye out for them.

Money raised from the sponsored litter pick will go towards our building fund and to help make Scouting more inclusive and accessible for those in need. You can download your sponsorship forms here.
