Beavers Receive their Chief Scouts Bronze Award

22 November 2013

On 20th November, 16 Beavers visited the Climbing Station to get a taste of indoor climbing.

After getting ready by getting climbing shoes on, they met their instructor who taught them how to warm up by stretching and having a go on the bouldering wall (climbing round a wall at low level). I’m please to say that none of Beavers fell off!

After warming up, it was time to hit the roped wall.

It was fair to say that some Beavers were scared, however they all had a go and thoroughly enjoyed it. Some of them even managed to get to the top!

After the climbing had finished, it was great to see 10 of our Beavers receiving their Chief Scouts Bronze Award, the highest award a Beaver can achieve before moving up onto Cubs. The awards were presented by Lucy, the Assistant District Commissioner for Beaver Scouts in Loughborough.
