Cubs Mish Mash Camp

26 November 2013

Over a freezing cold weekend, our Cubs joined with 9th Loughborough Scouts and had a sleepover at the Oaks Campsite. Even though they were inside, the nights aware experience was still a challenge. The theme of the camp was “Mish Mash”, a mix of Autumn/Winter events including Halloween, Guy Fawkes, Christmas all rolled into one camp!

The Saturday saw the Cubs getting ready for a hike up to Timberwood Hill to a height of 243 metres above sea level.

They took their lunch with them and they had to cook it on trangias (portable stoves) on top of the hill.

After lunch, making there way back down the hill back to the campsite, the Cubs enjoyed a couple of games, lovely Shepherd’s pie followed by Camp fire to round off the day. It was fair to say that the Cubs were really tired and fell asleep really quickly (as did the leaders)!

The next morning saw some messy games before tidying up and heading home.
